ケニア農業食料庁（AFA）は2026年2月1日、マカダミアの全国的な収穫・取引の窓口を再開した。2025年12月1日から続く閉鎖措置は2月15日に終了する予定だったため、2週間の前倒しとなる。AFAは閉鎖について、仁の品質、含油率、保存性を守り、輸出市場におけるケニアの地位を支えるための季節的措置だと説明した。
AFAによると、2026年1月19日から23日にかけて主要産地の郡で成熟度の重点調査を実施した。成熟度は地域によって異なり、標高の低いコーヒー産地の果実はおおむね収穫可能だった一方、標高の高い茶産地の果実は大半が未熟だった。同庁は生産者と取引業者に早期収穫を控えるよう促し、未熟な果実は品質指標に影響し、輸出市場へのアクセスを制限しうると指摘した。
