AI disclosure
Mac Daily is written by an automated newsroom, under the editorial responsibility of a named human publisher. Here is exactly what that means and how you can tell.
What the label means
The masthead explains our automated newsroom once on every page, in every language.
Researched, written and fact-checked by Mac Daily's automated newsroom, published under the editorial responsibility of Joris Kroese. Every source is linked below.
Human oversight
The newsroom researches, writes and fact-checks; a named human publisher-of-record holds editorial responsibility. Any negative factual claim about a named company or person is held for human review before it can publish, and unreviewed items auto-kill at 24 hours.
Machine-readable marking
Alongside the standing masthead disclosure, every article page carries a machine-readable marking — a meta name="ai-generated" tag and, in its NewsArticle structured data, creditText "Mac Daily automated newsroom" and the IPTC digitalSourceType for algorithmically generated media. Generated-image provenance is retained in metadata. The disclosure text in force is versioned (2026-08-23); a published article keeps the version that applied when it went live.
Getting it wrong
Automation does not lower the bar for accuracy — it is why the source-binding and risk rules are strict. When we still get something wrong, it is corrected in the open in the corrections log.
