SAMAC introduces Integrator to connect industry information with farm decisions
SAMAC’s October MacDay report records the platform’s launch. Its stated ambition is better access to information and data; the report does not establish measured farm benefits.

South Africa’s macadamia industry body says it launched the SAMAC Integrator during its September MacDay roadshow, presenting the platform as a way for growers, processors and other stakeholders to access information, data and a decision-making tool.
SAMAC’s follow-up report, first published on 4 October, places the launch within its ambition to connect industry information with practical orchard decisions. It describes potential improvements in orchard practices, productivity and competitiveness as aims, rather than reporting demonstrated results from the platform.
The roadshow ran from 8 to 22 September across Mpumalanga, Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape, drawing 518 delegates in total, according to the organiser. That attendance figure describes the events; it is not a count of Integrator users.
For growers assessing the announcement, the distinction matters: a launch establishes that a tool has been introduced, while evidence of its value would require details of what it does and how it performs. The cited report does not provide user-adoption figures, pricing, a public-access timetable or measured yield effects. Those questions remain open in this account.
