USDA expects China's macadamia output to expand as plantings mature

An October 5 official summary attributes expected production growth to maturing acreage. It does not establish a crop volume or a realised harvest.

China’s macadamia production is expected to expand as additional planted acreage reaches maturity, according to the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service’s Beijing office. The agency published its Tree Nuts Annual summary on 5 October.

For buyers, the distinction is between a projected supply change and a completed harvest. The summary does not give a macadamia tonnage, moisture or product basis, or a measured crop result. It cannot support a like-for-like comparison with in-shell or kernel figures elsewhere.
